Bliss

To be nobody -- but yourself -- in a world
which is doing its best night and day
to make you everybody else -- means to fight
the hardest battle which any human being
can fight and never stop fighting.

--e.e. cummings

I have been reading BlissChick's blog and learning a lot. One of the posts that struck me the most was about the internal opera. This is all those internal voices telling you what you can't do. After reading about all the internal voices I realized that I need to learn to kick these voices in the rear to succed at my goal. So that is what I am going to do. It will be hard, but a very rewarding journey.

I will nurture my connection with my personal practice
I will allow myself much Grace
I will rejoice in my small steps on my Journey

A Sunny Fall Day

J and I spent an afternoon playing disc golf. I'm not very good, actually I am horrible, but this time I tried to work on throwing the disc right. Hopefully we will be able to go play again so that I can practice some more.

Garden Blooming

I was looking at my jalapeños plant this morning and saw an actual jalapeños. I have been watering this plant all summer and haven't seen anything, but leafs growing. It seems weird that it is almost November and we are just getting jalapeños.

We have had a slow steady stream of tomatoes growing all summer, but now that fall is here they are growing like crazy. There are cherry tomatoes growing every where and at least 5 big house tomatoes.

Has your garden ever started growing like crazy at the end of the summer?

Balcony Garden

I can't wait for my jalapenos to grow. I pretty much killed all of herbs. Not sure if the cilantro, my favorite, will come back.

MMMMM cherry tomatoes. The first thing we got to eat from the garden (besides the herbs, but they don't count).

My poor onions were drowned. Sad face. I was really looking forward to them.
My rose bush that is making an amazing come back. Maybe next year it will flower.
Tomatoes how I love you so much. Yummy in my tummy.

August Goals

• Bike to work and everywhere possible. I biked to work almost every day, but was usually too lazy to bike anywhere else.

• Continue my hunt for a job. My internship ends August 26th and I would like to have a job to start right after the wedding. This whole starting a marriage with only one of us working scares the crap out of me. House wife anyone? I wouldn’t mind staying home and running the house, but I would like to bring in some money to help pay the bills. Especially my student loans.

• Read two books. The Commitment by Dan Savage (if I can find it) and Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert.

• Write at least one blog post a week.

• Finish planning the wedding. I would like to have very little to do come September.

The garden is producing some produce. We have had a few cherry tomatoes and one big one. The big one was cracked so I don’t know if we will be able to eat it. The jalapenos still haven’t done anything and the onions drowned. Maybe we will get some more onions planted soon. I have some pictures of the garden that I will post hopefully tomorrow.

July Goals

July Goals
• Bike to work and everywhere possible
o I only biked to work 7 times this whole month. That is pitiful. I did bike to Safeway one time, which felt awesome.
• Write at least one blog post a week
o I haven’t been very good with this. I plan to keep this on my goals for next month.
• Work on my organization book
o I haven’t even looked at this at all during July. I am going to put this on hold until after the wedding.
• Continue wedding planning
o A little too un-organized for my liking, but it is getting there. We have most everything figured out, it is now just how to get the day to run smoothly. We are still trying to figure out how we want to do the games and time between the ceremony and dinner.
• Work on finding a job
o I have sent out three resumes and applied online to two other places. I also made a good list of places to check.
• Make jewelry
o I did about two loops for my bracelet got frustrated and quite.

I am going to put up my August goals this weekend hopefully, but can’t guarantee it. I am heading down to Colorado for the weekend. One of my oldest friends is getting married on Saturday and I get to pick my dress up tomorrow. I am so excited to get my dress.

Weekend

This last weekend J and I were planning on going to Wyoming to visit a friend and the Tetons. We went last year and fell in love with the area. We ended up not being able to go due to lack of money. J decided that he still wanted to go camping. So we packed everything up with the intention of going to our favorite campground in Custer State Park, Center Lake. As is typical with us we took longer than expected to get packed. The third floor apartment helps with this. By the time we got to the campground it was full. So we drove around the park to some other campgrounds, only to come across some very nasty men. After telling the men off at the only “open” site in the park we decided to leave the park.

Around 11 p.m. we were tired and hungry so we found a dirt road that went out of the park. We parked the truck in a parking lot and made some dinner and went to sleep. The next morning, while making breakfast, a state park employee drove by and gave us the stink eye, which I returned with a smile and a wave. It felt good knowing that we didn’t have to waste $20 on a campsite.

We decided to play tourist for a bit and go see the fire watch tower and then drive on some of the inner roads around French Creek. While driving on the inner roads we came across a caravan of horses and buggies. You would think a caravan of cowboys about a mile long would know what to do when a vehicle came upon them. This group had no clue. It took forever to get past them. After our tourist time we went and lounged at the Center Lake Picnic area for the rest of the day. It was pretty much a campground, except you were not allowed to stay the night there. We finished off the bottle of Captain that had been opened for breakfast and decided to pass out in the truck.

Sunday we decided to be uber tourist and spent some time in Keystone. It was nice to walk around and talk with J. Overall it was a really awesome weekend. We probably would have had more fun in Wyoming, but this trip ended up being really cheap.
